In the second in our series of Covid-19 interviews with Senior HR Leaders, our Founder & Managing Director, Peter Banks, talks directly to Scott Northcutt, Senior Vice President – Human Resources, Bacardi Limited.
Scott shares how Bacardi has been tackling the key challenges that this global pandemic has presented for their employees (primos), their bar and hospitality customers and their organisation and also explores the opportunities ahead as they look to arrive safely at the ‘new better’ – a phrase they have adopted for their organisation. In this insightful interview, Scott poses some interesting questions and observations around the future purpose of the office, the learning from video meetings and the challenges of maintaining their highly social culture during lockdown.
Peter Banks, Founder & Managing Director of theHRDIRECTOR commented: “It is interesting to talk to HR Leaders in different industries as they are all being impacted in very diverse ways. Covid-19 gave organisations very little time to react and Scott has been surprised by just how agile they have been and how rapidly they have made decisions to adapt. As much as these are challenging times, Scott sees an incredible opportunity to learn from this, to be more thoughtful and caring and for everyone to benefit for the future. As he rightly says, it is the first time that all stakeholders are aligned to find a better way. I really like the new mantra they have adopted – so let’s all move to the new better.”
Watch the second in the series as we look to uncover a rich source of ideas, insight, strategies and new working practices to guide us through this. Just what have we learnt from this global pandemic and is there an opportunity to make a real change for the better?
